Gender-based violence (GBV)
Norwegian Church Aid can now offer a very exciting 1-year position, with the possibility of extension, within the Humanitarian Division in the Department for International Programmes. The workplace will be at the head office in Oslo.

NCA’s thematic portfolio prioritises the prevention and response to gender-based violence, in both humanitarian and development settings. As our new GBV advisor, you will work closely together with other GBV colleagues, contributing to the development and quality assurance of NCA’s GBV portfolio and providing support to NCA’s country offices. This position may require travelling to country offices and field responses. 

Duties and responsibilities:
•    Provide general support and assistance to country offices within their GBV programming through training, mentoring, quality assuring and supervision. 
•    Contribute to the integration of best practices and evidence-based approaches through the development or adaptation of tools and intervention approaches, to guide and strengthen NNCAGBV portfolio.
•    Contribute to gender mainstreaming and improved integrated programming together with relevant thematic advisors, including WASH and Peacebuilding.
•    Develop and facilitate learning events related to GBV prevention and response.
•    Support both the Head Office and NCA country offices with resource mobilisation efforts in developing GBV thematic portfolio, both private and public.
•    Explore partnerships with global, national and grassroots organisations.

Qualifications
•    Degree in social work, social science, gender studies, humanitarian affairs, international development, or related field. Solid and relevant field experience can replace formal education. 
•    Good knowledge of international humanitarian and development standards for GBV, specifically on the application of survivor-centred approach.
•    Field experience in GBV prevention and response programming in conflict and post-conflict settings is an asset. 
•    Strong contextual awareness and ability to work in multi-cultural settings.
•    Good understanding of the humanitarian cluster system.
•    Experience in conducting training and capacity building. 
•    Norwegian, French, and/or Arabic are an advantage
