Gender equality and Social inclusion (GESI)
Responsibility 1: PGI and CEA roster management
- Co-manage the PGI roster and manage the CEA roster
- Based on agreed upon priorities with Emergency Operations, establish workforce planning targets for the PGI and CEA register in collaboration with operations and in consideration of current and anticipated operations
- Provide technical expertise to attract and select new PGI and CEA personnel and identify personnel for deployment
- Define technical readiness requirements to be able to deploy to the field in this capacity
- With the support of colleagues and experts, lead the development and implementation of engagement, training and capacity building mechanisms for the PGI and CEA register
Responsibility 2: Support to integrate PGIE into health and emergency programming with a focus on CEA and protection.
- Guide health and emergency programming outside of Canada to include minimum standards for PGIE within new proposals and projects.
- Support program teams to achieve integration of PGIE into assessments, planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting processes related to CRC emergency projects outside of Canada.
- Deploy, as needed, to support Movement disaster responses.
Responsibility 3: Representation of Canadian Red Cross on issues of CEA and protection
- Collaborate with relevant CanOps teams to enhance coordination and coherence on CEA and protection approaches for services and operations.
- Participate in relevant Red Cross Red Crescent working groups, events, and projects to contribute to strengthening tools, strategies and approaches related to both CEA and protection.
- Engage with key external partners, such as the Canadian government, NGOs and academics, to promote Canadian Red Cross and Red Cross and Red Crescent activities and approaches to both CEA and protection, and to learn from and coordinate with other agencies.
Responsibility 4: Support an effective team within a matrix structure
- Collaborate to fulfill the agreed objectives, needs and expectations. Fosters teamwork through a professional exchange of experiences and expertise that can be transferred to other areas of work. Ensures sharing and dissemination of services related materials to all concerned actors.
- Provide back-up to colleagues as required.
- Mentor colleagues on sourcing processes and systems for back up purposes.
What we are looking for:
- Masters Degree or advanced diploma in a relevant field is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience working in a relevant field,
- Experience in the development of educational resources, curriculum, policies and procedures is considered an asset.
- Knowledge and experience of minimum standards and tools for integrating community.
- Knowledge of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement and knowledge of the Canadian Red Cross Society’s Domestic operations is a definite asset.
- Excellent oral and written skills in English required; fluency in Spanish and French desired.
