The Director is responsible for defining CARE confederation-wide advocacy framework, guide policy prioritization, and related advocacy plans for GE advocacy. They will articulate the vision, provide strategic leadership to CARE member partners regional and country offices that are executing CARE’s GE advocacy strategy in their contexts. The goal is to maximize synergies between advocacy at the local, national, and global levels. The Director will steer CARE’s local to global advocacy efforts - working closely with Regional Advocacy Advisors and country office advocacy leads - who will inform this work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Global Advocacy Strategy and internal coordination
- External leadership and representation
- Management (including matrixed management)
- Resource Mobilization
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 7 years supervisory management experience leading a team within a matrixed organization and/or across different actors or departments.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in international relations, gender studies, public policy or a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Training or equivalent work experience in international development, particularly the health sector.
