Climate & Environmental justice
Movement building
- Programme Leadership and Strategic Planning: Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of project activities with a coalition of strategic partners internationally, and with our network of sister offices.
- Capacity Building: Develop and implement training programmes for CSOs/groups, focusing on organisational development, advocacy, and inclusive climate action and sustainable development including gender-responsive SDGs and climate policies, feminist foreign policies, and EU’s GAPIII.
- Policy Advocacy Engagement: Drive climate and sustainable development policy actions in collaboration with feminist partners and WECF advocacy teams across different countries to produce influential policy recommendations to advance climate justice and gender equality.
- Budget Management: Oversee budgeting, grants and coordinate with the financial manager the budget planning, reports from partners and reporting to donors in cooperation with auditors.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Risk Management: Conduct monitoring and evaluation to assess the impact of programmes, ensure continuous improvement, and manage risks to programme objective. Assess project outcomes to ensure progress towards the overarching goal of a more inclusive ecofeminist society engaged in climate justice.
- Outreach and Network Collaboration: Direct communication campaigns and foster a collaborative network among women’s and civil society organisations to amplify the ecofeminist movement with support from the communication officer.
Support with
- Grant Management: Administer financial sub-granting mechanisms for subgrantees CSOs, ensuring transparent and effective allocation of funds.
- Policy analysis: Champion gender-transformative policy analysis and publications, integrating ecofeminist principles and inclusivity into the core of climate justice work. Support engagement in national and international policy processes,
- Youth and Marginalised Groups Mentoring: Specifically design and support initiatives that engage and empower youth, women, and marginalized communities, including LGBTQI+ and persons with disabilities.
- Communication and Campaigning: Direct impactful awareness-raising campaigns and advocate for climate justice at various levels, from local communities to global forums. Amplify our climate policy presence on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

Fundraising and Advocacy: Engage in fundraising and maintain donor relations while championing WECF’s climate justice advocacy.
Your profile
- A degree in environmental or social science, political science, environmental engineering, environmental management or sustainability management or public administration.
- At least 5 years of experience in project management, preferably within the climate action or social justice sectors.
- Proven track record of managing donor-funded projects, and optional familiarity with EU financial regulations is a plus.
- Strong understanding of climate justice issues, gender equality, and the empowerment of marginalized communities.
- Leadership skills with the ability to engage and motivate diverse teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English. Communication skills in Dutch, French or Spanish are an asset.
- You are based in the Netherlands and are able to work from our office in Utrecht at least several days per week.
