1. Financial Management
  • Undertake accounting and bookkeeping work, journal maintenance and preparation of month-end reporting for review by the Strategic Finance Enabler on various SaaS platforms.
  • Responsible for the integrity of the data in the various information systems used in the organisation.
  • Manage funder record keeping and provide accountability reporting monthly.
  • Support grant disbursement to grantee partners and maintain accurate records.
  • Responsible for the smooth running of the payment process including obtaining appropriate approvals and processing international payments.
  • Assistsin the preparation of cash flow forecasts.
  • Ensure that per diems are processed for staff before travel and expenses are reimbursed and settled.
  • Assists in any other financial matters as requested by the Senior Leadership Team.

2. Governance
  • Provided support in ensuring compliance with internal processes as well as New Zealand’s regulatory requirements.

3. Human resources support and management
  • Oversees payroll function to ensure that staff are paid in a timely and accurately.
  • Process and oversee the submission of statutory requirements on time.

4. Administration
  • Ensures the integrity of the organisation’s electronic filing system on SharePoint.
  • Assistsin updating SharePoint when necessary.
  • Provides administration support to the Strategic Finance Enabler.


KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Professional qualification in accounting such as a bachelor’s degree.
  • 4 years' experience in accounts management. Experience in the not-for-profit sector will be an added advantage.
  • A strong understanding of key accounting concepts and principles, knowledge of cloud accounting systems as well and financial reporting experience are required.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, and Xero, and an understanding of collaborating on documents
  • The ability to work under pressure, plan and prioritise workload, and manage to complete priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organisation, administration, and time management skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a closely knit team, as well as independently.
  • Ability to work with different nationalities and communities in an international and multicultural environment with mutual respect.
  • Able to travel locally and regionally as and when required.
