Essential Position Functions
  • Leads and supports PAFP strategy development by providing political thought-leadership and engagement.
  • Leads the project team and partners to successfully develop and implement the PAFP comprehensive work-plan and its resource mobilisation strategy.
  • Develops robust funding proposals for the PAFP initiative Endowment Fund and operations.
  • Generates and help manage a variety of reports, donor proposals and requests, and funding fulfilment.
  • Maintains vibrant engagement with funding partners, thought-leaders and allies.
  • Facilitates the building of the Endowment Fund and following up on commitments.
  • Represents the PAFP campaign in events, conferences, and relevant fora, when required.
  • Manages and effectively utilises the February 2023 Indaba funding partners and participant database to accurately record prospective donor activity and other relevant data in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Leads the project team and partners in a variety of capacities including but not limited to mapping essential meetings, logistical support for conferences, and resource mobilisation activities.
  • Demonstrates core values of professional rigor, transparent governance, effective communication, sustainable results, creativity, respect, integrity, and accountability,
  • Adheres to TrustAfrica and UAF-Africa’s pan-African and Feminist values systems, policies, and procedures..
  • Independently exercises emotional intelligence, ethical and sound judgement to maintain donor and stakeholder confidence by keeping sensitive information confidential.
  • Undertakes other tasks and activities as requested.
Education Requirements
  • A Masters degree in Social Sciences or any relevant qualification.
  • Ten to fifteen years of leadership experience in pan-African and feminist philanthropy is required.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Leadership experience and a deep understanding of pan-African and Feminist philanthropies, strategy development, gender equality, and women’s rights issues, across the African continent
  • Strong and robust management, facilitation and organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent Communication (oral and written) skills— Effectively expressing ideas verbally and nonverbally and actively listening to individuals and groups; preparing and focusing presentations to the characteristics and needs of the audience; strong writing and editing skills for a variety of audiences.
  • Bi-lingual French & English language skills knowledge is preferrable.
  • Strong working knowledge of international development, women’s human rights, social justice and feminist movement building demonstrated through a minimum of ten-fifteen years of relevant work experience.
