Urgent Action Fund Asia & Pacific (UAF A&P) is a Rapid Response Fund that resources the resilience of women, trans and non-binary human rights defenders in Asia and the Pacific and to further support this, we strive to strengthen and sustain feminist networks to ensure safety and care in these regions. We are the first rapid response fund led by and for women in the Asia and Pacific regions.
Our fund works on a set of core feminist principles of care to inform and advise our various functions. As a regional feminist fund newly established in the region, we have been experimenting with innovative grant-making and resource mobilisation practices to support frontline work by women and non-binary human rights defenders across these two vast regions. Our key programmatic areas of work are: Rapid Response Grant-making Programme to provide emergency support to activsits and defenders; Enabling Defenders Programme to support sustainable safety and care structure; and Resource Mobilisation.
Position Overview
The Resource Mobilisation Facilitator provides a key role in UAF A&P ’s resource mobilisation work, to form and nurture relationships with high networth individuals and diverse non-traditional funders. The RMF will help to cultivate relationships with institutional and major individual funders, and support the creation of knowledge, opinion, and advocacy pieces to demonstrate UAF A&P’s impact. The RM Facilitator will also write grant proposals, reports, and conduct funder research. The RMF will work in close collaboration with the existing Resource Mobilisation Facilitator and Co Leads.
Key Accountabilities:
● Increase and diversify funding relationships and collaborations that mobilize sustainable, feminist, human rights, and social justice resourcing for UAF A&P and the activists we support.
● Mobilise resources for activist-led initiatives that will support the survival and thriving of women and non-binary defenders and activists through engagement at local, national, and regional levels
● Collaborate with the Co-Leads to establish fundraising benchmarks and indicators to measure and track resource mobilization efforts at global and regional levels, making corrective actions as needed to ensure progress toward fundraising targets and secure resource streams and sustainability
