Climate & Environmental justice
Gender and Equity Project Leadership:
- Provide thought leadership and strategic input to project leadership (both global and pilot) for how the Clean Air Catalyst can integrate gender and equity, including developing specific source awareness and solution and coalition building activities to be implemented by pilot and project partners
- Coordinate and guide pilot gender teams including tracking implementation of gender activities and partner and stakeholder engagement including organizing and hosting biweekly gender team calls
- Engage with USAID project leaders on gender and equity outcomes, approaches, project management needs and future gender project activities including leading monthly updates to USAID during regular check in calls
- Provide technical and capacity building guidance to project teams and partners around gender and equity best practices and approaches as subject matter expert
Project Management:
- Participate in Clean Air Catalyst partnership, global and pilot project management meetings
- Coordinate with science, communication, and health teams to ensure gender and equity is integrated and highlighted in relevant activities, research, and communication efforts
- Write and review annual project work plan and annual reports, draft publications and other research and communications materials developed by the Clean Air Catalyst project and partners to ensure integration of gender and equity activities, goals and objectives
- Coordinate with MEL specialist to develop and implement gender indicator definitions, targets, and monitoring and tracking efforts. Gender and Equity Outreach and Communication
- Author and review blogs and communication materials to include gender and equity including providing talking points to institutional leaders for international forums and events
- Support cultivation and inclusion of gender and equity stakeholders in Clean Air Catalyst activities including gender and equity focused civil society organizations, government representatives and policy makers, and women-based civil society organizations to achieve gender equality and women empowerment goals and objectives
- Help design and participate in webinars, podcasts and workshops to highlight gender equity project approaches, findings and insight
What will you need:
- Education: Advanced degree in social sciences or related fields. Additional years of work experience will be considered in lieu of an advanced degree
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of relevant professional work experience preferably working with USAID, or other USG offices
- Experience as a subject matter expert in gender, equity, especially as it intersects with air pollution, health or climate
- Experience engaging with wide range of stakeholders including multilateral organizations, governments, civil society and community-based organizations
- Record of project management including work plan development, reporting and MEL
- Experience working effectively and respectfully in diverse teams and communities around the globe
