Program implementation (40%)
Support the IGNIT3 country teams to design appropriate interventions and approaches to
address challenges through the development of the Project Gender Equality Strategy
Lead on implementation of Project Gender Equality Strategy and adapt as needed based on
findings from Gender and Human Rights Analysis (GHRA)
Ensure all activities support the initiative to expand and improve the quality of IGNIT3 project
interventions in accordance with the program approach principles, standards and theory of
change.
Support and participate in the development of relevant, effective, and high impact
programming standards and guidelines
Coordinate and ensure that adequate training, tools and guidance are provided to IGNIT3
project staff for mainstreaming including to support health care professionals and health
facilities in the provision of gender responsive service, adolescent friendly (nutrition, health
and wash) service delivery

Project Compliance and Quality assurance of deliverables related to gender equality (20%)
Quality assurance of project planning and reporting documentation as required. A specific
focus will be on providing technical guidance in gender analysis throughout the project cycle
Provide technical guidance partners and staff on gender-responsive training curricula, social
and behaviour change strategies, formative research and other project deliverables
Ensure application of feminist Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) principles and other
GAC requirements

Program Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (30%)
Ensure gender dimension is taken into account in the project MEL plan and system
Support Project staff and partners to monitor the progress on gender equality and women’s
empowerment across all the project interventions/countries/partners
Work closely with project’s MEL subcommittee to monitor and report on gender equality
outcomes and indicators and fill gender data gaps. Support the development of gendered
indicators and tools and processes to collect data.
Produce reports on progress regarding women’s rights and empowerment and share learning with implementing partners, government, and communities
Actively participate in MEL subcommittee meetings as necessary

Knowledge Management and best practice dissemination (10%)
Coordinate Gender Equality and Human Rights Subcommittee
Stay abreast of and contribute to the latest knowledge/best practice of emerging issues
related to gender within health, nutrition and WASH
Contribute to development of knowledge products which highlight the project’s contribution
to gender equality
Other duties and responsibilities may be required.

Education/Professional Designations/Experience:
Postgraduate level degree in gender/women’s studies with a focus on one of health, nutrition, 
WASH, public health, or international development with experience and training in gender and  development 
• Experience using gender markers in the development of new programs 
• Experience using various gender analysis frameworks. 
• 6-8 years of experience with NGOs, UN agencies, and/or other service providers in 
implementing gender-sensitive and/or responsive programming with public health, WASH, 
and/or nutrition related programs within the Africa or Asia region
