Duties and Key Responsibilities 
Strategy & Leadership 
  • Support the development of a people strategy that includes talent acquisition, recruiting, talent retention, assessment of future talent needs, and learning and development.  
  • Develop a robust and innovative performance management system. 
  • Lead periodic review of the people and culture strategy and provide regular reports.  

Talent Management 
  • Responsible for ensuring recruitment principles and practice are complied with and delivered in terms of employee recruitment and onboarding. 
  • Undertake a skills gap audit identifying essential competency gaps.  
  • Develop a focused job design aligned to a structured Workforce Plan and Framework. 

People / Learning & Development 
  • Develop Women’s Aid’s Job Framework, succession planning and Career Pathways across all Job Families. 
  • Build a culture of continuous performance conversations across the organisation with oversight and continued development of the Performance Review & Development framework. 
  • In conjunction with the Executive Team, ensure all Learning and Development is strategically linked to organisational needs and aligned to performance reviews and business planning processes. 

People and Culture Operations & Compliance 
  • Provide advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on all people related matters across employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding, performance management employee relations, rewards.  wellbeing and change management) 
  • Review and create new People and Culture policies, guidelines and processes, and uphold them, ensuring staff members have a positive working experience at WA and that we comply with any applicable laws and regulations. 
  • Support Rewards and Benefit audit and ensure employee benefits programs are properly maintained. 

General Responsibilities 
  • To contribute to team meetings and organisational priorities, and to prepare for and participate in regular supervision and appraisal meetings 
  • To be flexible within the broad remit of the post 
  • To take direction on new projects and priorities from your line manager, which may vary from time to time 

Other 
  • Based in Bristol, London or remotely, this job may involve occasional travel throughout England. 
  • Occasional unsociable hours are also required. 

Person Specification 
Education and Certifications 
  • CIPD Qualification or working towards it 
Knowledge and Experience: Essential 
  • At least 3 years’ progressive and current, or very recent experience working as a business partner providing a broad range of generalist advice, support, guidance and coaching to multiple stakeholders at different levels on people-related matters, with demonstrable progression in complexity and responsibility. 
  • Strong data and program analysis and planning skills. 
  • An entrepreneurial, innovative approach, able to spot opportunities and energise others to go after them.
