Overview 

The Senior Attorney serves as a litigator, legal strategist, and manager of projects and people, responsible for operationalizing the organization’s mission and impact. They design and implement legal strategies and coordinate and/or participate in project teams that combine legal and communications strategies.  

The Senior Attorney assembles and manages key relationships and resources to advance litigation and projects, often as the lead relationship holder with partners and allies. They monitor external trends and represent the organization to diverse audiences and stakeholders. The Senior Attorney also plays a supervisory/mentor role in the organization. Being committed to the organization's feminist principles of equity, anti-racism, and anti-colonialism is vital.

Duties and Responsibilities 

1. Lead and manage legal projects of considerable size/complexity aligned with the objectives of the organizational plan, comparative value, and strategic approach of the organization. 

2. Litigate directly and/or supervise litigation before judicial bodies, courts, and/or tribunals in accordance with organizational objectives. 

3. Work with Managing Attorneys to design and develop innovative and timely legal strategies to support the achievement of program initiatives. 

4. Supervise people and teams, providing effective support to make the best possible use of the skills and talents of the organization’s staff, partners, and consultants. 

5. Contribute with identifying and strengthening alliances to position the organization in Europe.
