Program Management of the donor-funded AYSRH project:
-Provide technical leadership in the conceptualization, design and coordinationof ASRHR advocacy efforts among CSOs
-Lead quarterly work planning process for AYSRH activities
-Oversee preparation of activity and quarterly reports in consultation with other team members
-Mentor and support the project team and align their efforts to ensure achievement of project deliverables
-Work with Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) staff to generate and document data, conduct data analysis and document results to guide future implementation
-Manage programmatic financial aspects of AYSRH project ensuring compliance with ICRHK and donor financial rules and regulations
-Act as the project primary contact for communications for project management activities to the donors and other project stakeholders
-Represent AYSRH projectinterests and present project progress, achievements and lessons learned to key Kenyan stakeholders and implementing partners through meetings, conferences, technical working groups and other fora
-Forge and maintain strong working relationships with Kenya Ministry of Health, specifically Reproductiveand MaternalHealth, Adolescent and Child Health, County/Sub-County Health Management Teams as well as other Adolescent and Child Health implementing partners/CSOs
Technical thought leadershipof the AYSRHR thematic area:
-Demonstrate technical expertise on the current and emerging priorities on AYSRHR and ensure key learning is shared within the organization
.-Support the Deputy Country Director to provide technical support to the other AYSRHR programs in the organization-Lead publications(policy briefs, manuscriptson AYSRHR including providing mentorship and support to other staff who are writing AYSRHR manuscripts)
Business Development:
-Support new business development initiatives including conceptualizing, writing and reviewing proposals for funding -Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor and ICRHK management
Specific Requirements
Qualifications
-Degree in a relevant healthcare discipline including social sciences or equivalent. Master’s degree in a health related field is anadded advantage
-7-8 years’ experience in successfully implementing successful activities in areas such as AYSRHR, maternal, newborn and child health, reproductive health, and health systems strengthening
-Understanding of the Kenya social and political context, and developments in the AYSRHR sector
-Previous experience working in Kenya, with solid understanding of local health system and health systems strengthening, AYSRH health care gaps, opportunitiesand policies, and solid relationships with government agencies and other stakeholders
-Demonstrated programming, management and technical skills
-Experience in mixed methods research designs, data collection methods and IRB processes-Certified to work in Good Clinical Practices environment is an added advantage
-Experience in resource mobilization
-Strong interpersonal skills and a team player
-Ability to work independently and effectively
-Software. Proficiency with the following software: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), EndNote or other citation software. Proficiency in quantitative or qualitative analysis software is an added advantage Communication. Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills required.
