Gender equality and Social inclusion (GESI)
1. Project Background:
The (ConJusticia) activity aims to increase accountability and improve citizen confidence in government by promoting greater effectiveness of the Mexican criminal justice system, primarily at the Mexican state level, through the implementation and institutionalization of more efficient justice sector processes, systems, and structures. The ConJusticia activity will be implemented to achieve the following three objectives:
· Objective 1: Individual justice sector institutions use data and analysis and streamline internal processes in order to prioritize and fully prosecute higher-level, serious criminal cases.
· Objective 2: Justice sector actors within the various institutions collaborate across institutions on policy, operations, resource allocations, information sharing, tools, and processes resulting in improved prosecutions and reductions in impunity.
· Objective 3: Results of institutional strengthening, collaboration, and reform are sustainable over time through durable partnerships among key local stakeholders (GOM, individual states, civil society, private sector).
2. Role’s Purpose:
The Gender Equality and Social Inclusion for Investigation and Litigation Consultant will contribute to and advise on the implementation of ConJusticia’s GESI Strategy in areas of Investigation and Litigation.
3. Objectives and Duties
Strengthen the Gender Unit of the State Attorney’s General Office of Zacatecas with tools, guidelines, and methodologies.
Contribute to the development of a Sustainability Plan for Gender Units in State Attorneys General Offices.
Accompany GESI mainstreaming in the design and implementation of Investigation Plans in target states through coaching sessions, methodologies, guidelines, and tools.
Mainstream GESI guidelines in 100-Day Challenges.
Mainstream GESI in Investigation and Litigation workshops including guidelines and tools.
Integration of GESI approach into tools, strategies, and approaches in Investigation and Litigation.
Support GESI mainstreaming in activities and pilots carried out under the framework of sustainable alliances and citizen co-responsibility.
Mainstream GESI into exchanges, roundtables, and Communities of Practice with justice sector institutions, academia, and Civil Society Organizations.
Mainstream GESI into Strategic Communications and Webinars.
Participate in the Internal Committee and internal GESI training and sensitization.
Mainstream GESI into CLA and M&E crosscutting areas.
Mainstream GESI guidelines in 100-Day Challenges.
Mainstream GESI in Investigation and Litigation workshops including guidelines and tools.
Integration of GESI approach into tools, strategies, and approaches in Investigation and Litigation.

4. Qualifications:
At least 3 years of experience working in Gender Equality and Social Inclusion approaches, developing methodologies materials, tools, and strategies.
Seasoned experience developing and implementing strategies to improve access to justice for women, girls, and groups in vulnerable situations in Mexico.
BSc or MSc. in Law, public policy, sociology, or anthropology with a focus on gender.
Experience collaborating with USAID programs or international cooperation agencies preferable.
Language:
