Position descriptionKey responsibilities include:
Technical and logistical Support
- Producer level:
- Coordinate and deliver leadership training to women in coffee growing households
- Collaborate with and advise agronomy advisors and senior agronomy advisors to support implementation of CREW’s household empowerment approach
- Collaborate with agronomy advisors and senior agronomy advisors on the inclusion of women in stumping incentive activities
- Wet-mill level:
- Coordinate and deliver women’s leadership training at the wet-mill level
- Work with business advisors to assist wet mills to train leaders on gender equitable business practices and develop and implement gender action plans to support the inclusion of women in wet-mills as workers and full-time elected positions.
- Support business advisors to establish and monitor grievance mechanism to respond to and address workers’ complaints (e.g., GBV, child labour, and sexual harassment)
- Enhance the good relationship with local stakeholders and community leaders at local level.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning:
- Track women’s leadership attendance records
- Contribute to monitoring efforts on gender-related topics
- Contribute to reporting on gender-related topics
- Provide support on other tasks assigned by supervisor
Required Knowledge, skills and experience
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in sociology, gender studies, social work and/or agriculture or plant science
- At least two years professional experience preferably on gender or social inclusion or in community development projects with special focus on gender equality
- Experience coordinating training and/or meeting logistics at community-level
- Experience facilitating training at community-level; gender-related training preferred
- Strong interest in advancing women’s economic empowerment
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently, and to work collaboratively, with a flexible approach.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Fluent communication skills in local languages (Oromifa for Bulehora), Amharic and English (listening, speaking and writing)

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a GEDSI Adviser with experience in private sector or market systems development, to ensure that MDF continues to adopt best practices in mainstreaming GEDSI across our portfolio of interventions with business and government partners.The GEDSI Adviser will provide technical advice to country office teams across our geographic locations, review the current portfolio of GEDSI related work, provide recommendations to current work plans and identify new opportunities to mainstream GEDSI across the Facility. This will include developing the business case to engage and work with the private sector, support data capture in monitoring and results measurement of market interventions, as well as contributing to management reporting and documenting GEDSI case studies.Key areas of focus will include:
× Develop and update MDF's GEDSI strategic framework to ensure consistency and effective implementation.× Provide technical advice and guidance to country office teams on integrating GEDSI into market interventions.× Lead capability strengthening initiatives to enhance knowledge and integration of GEDSI across MDF.× Support the development and execution of GEDSI training modules and identify opportunities for collaborative learning.× Contribute to GEDSI thought leadership by documenting and showcasing case studies demonstrating best practices.× Assist in stakeholder mapping, strategic research designs, and communication products targeted at DFAT and other stakeholders.× Monitor and report on GEDSI deliverables, ensuring inclusivity in RIMI data collection and monitoring activities.
This key position will also work with the MDF Leadership team and Country Offices to shape the intersectionality of GEDSI in cross cutting areas such as climate change, as well as lead on capability strengthening of country teams to deepen knowledge in integrating GEDSI in all areas of MDF’s work.

Responsibilities:

Description du poste

Responsibilities
- Lead the development of the GESI strategy which will guide the integration of GESI concepts and approaches into all program activities, including technical implementation, monitoring, operations, policies, and procedures

Economic justice Gender-based violence (GBV)RESPONSABILIDADES PRINCIPALESGestión de programa- En colaboración con el equipo de campo y bajo supervisión de la Coordinación WPE, desarrollará un cronograma de actividades mensuales que se llevarán a cabo por el programa en el territorio de intervención. Así mismo, brindará soporte a Redes de Organizaciones de Sociedad Civil presentes en las ciudades mencionadas.
Soporte y supervisión del equipo:- Supervisará y dará acompañamiento técnico a el/la Oficial de Gobernanza y el/la Asistente WPE en relación con procesos que se adelanten desde el proyecto.
- Llevará a cabo sesiones periódicas de planificación e información con el equipo WPE para revisar avances, responsabilidades y planificar acciones en línea con el plan de trabajo de FUERZA.
Documentación, monitoreo y reportes- En colaboración con la Gerencia MEAL, asegurará el monitoreo del proyecto y la implementación de herramientas de medición para el aseguramiento de la calidad, en lineamiento con el marco lógico y indicadores definidos para el proyecto.
- Asegurará que los registros de asistencia y otras herramientas de reporte son implementadas y son reportadas de acuerdo al cronograma establecido.

Training and Hands-On Capacity Building (80%)
- Working collaboratively with other team members, supporting the design and development of training curricula and materials, adapting SEED’s current curriculum as needed.
- Support the training delivery using interactive and student-centered approaches.
- Provide hands-on capacity building support and on-job coaching to training participants in their workplaces as they apply new knowledge and strengthen skills.
- Provide support on an individual basis and in groups.
- Conduct regular assessments of participant skills and needs.
- Make recommendations to address any capacity gaps, including revisions to training curricula and materials.

Coordination and Organizational Representation (5%)
- Maintain strong, effective working relationships with key stakeholders, particularly agencies receiving capacity building.
- Provide content and input on communications materials including website, promotional materials, and social media, and ensure it complies with SEED’s storytelling policy.
Essential criteria:
- Degree in law, social work, psychology, international development or other relevant fields.
- At least five years of experience in GBV and protection programming.
- At least three years of experience in GBV and protection capacity, with experience in government capacity building a plus.
- At least three years of NGO experience.
- Strong belief in human rights and gender equality.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong ability to work independently, including the ability to multitask, prioritize competing tasks, and manage time effectively.

- Support the DCOP and Gender Analysis and Technical Advisors with identifying resources and establishing timelines for conducting gender analyses;
- Identify local, regional, and international consultants to serve as leads or members of gender analysis teams, and support their approval and mobilization processes. This includes working with the DCOP and Gender Analysis and Technical Advisors to develop scopes of work (SOWs) for consultant agreements and subcontractors, and obtain all necessary supporting documentation as relevant;
- Organize travel, logistics, and meetings, for gender analysis teams in the field (overseas), in compliance with USAID and ECODIT policies and procedures;

- Ensure all documentation related to gender analyses (including literature reviews, interview notes, and reports) are properly filed and that data is safely stored;
- Lead the hiring of vetted vendors and the procurement of goods and services as they relate to gender analyses (i.e., interpretation and translation, transportation);
- Provide technical, administrative, and other support to staff, consultants, and subcontractors throughout the course of gender analyses to ensure compliance with USAID and ECODIT requirements. This includes delivering training on such topics as invoicing, preparing expense reports, and providing guidance on travel requirements;
- Perform other tasks, as needed, to ensure the success of the Gender LEAD Program.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, gender, international development, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred;
- At least three years of experience in project management for donor-funded projects, in an international development setting;
- Proven experience working on USAID-funded projects, and adhering to USG policies, procedures, regulations and reporting requirements, and business practices
