Peace and SecurityYour missionThe WPS Programme Coordinator - Palestine is responsible for the overall coordination, implementation and delivery of the WPS Programme in Palestine. The role provides strategic and technical leadership for country-level programme implementation, ensuring effective planning, partnership management, programme quality, monitoring, reporting, budget oversight and stakeholder engagement.
Working under the supervision of the WPS Regional Programme Manager, the Coordinator ensures that programme implementation aligns with the regional WPS strategy, the programme’s Theory of Change, donor commitments and War Child’s policies and procedures. The coordinator serves as one of the primary country focal points for the WPS Programme and represents the programme with relevant national & international stakeholders, including relevant ministries and coalitions.

Education and Experience
• Master’s degree in Gender Studies, International Development, International Relations, Peace and Conflict Studies, Political Science, Social Sciences, or another relevant field. A Bachelor’s degree combined with substantial relevant experience may be considered.
• At least 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience managing gender, women’s rights, peacebuilding, governance, protection or related programmes in humanitarian and/or development settings.
• Demonstrated experience working with national NGOs, women’s rights organisations and government counterparts.
• Strong understanding of conflict-sensitive programming and gender-transformative approaches.
• Experience working with institutional donors and managing donor-funded programmes.
• Experience working on gender equality and women’s rights in Palestine is essential.
• Fluency in Arabic and professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Technical Competencies
• Strong knowledge of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda, including the UN Security Council WPS resolutions, National Action Plans, and gender-transformative programming approaches.
• Demonstrated understanding of partnership-based programming, localisation, feminist leadership principles, and working with women’s rights organisations (WROs) and civil society organisations (CSOs).
• Proven experience in programme planning, implementation, monitoring, budgeting, reporting and adaptive programme management.
• Strong understanding of results-based management, MEAL approaches and donor compliance requirements.
• Experience managing partnerships, and multi-stakeholder coordination processes.

The College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) at the University of Michigan seeks outstanding scholars for new tenure-track assistant professor faculty positions as part of the Michigan Program for Advancing Cultural Transformation (M-PACT) Program. This hiring program, a federally funded, university-wide faculty initiative, aims to recruit faculty with a demonstrated and ongoing record of driving transformative research, life-changing teaching, and accessible clinical care that will support the health of all, including communities who have been underserved. Through the M-PACT program, the Department of Women's and Gender Studies (WGS) seeks a scholar whose work brings feminist, gender, queer, or sexuality studies to bear on health and health equity. We construe health broadly, including physical, psychological, and behavioral health. We are also interested in health policy as well as social and structural conditions that shape health outcomes and health inequities. Field of specialization is open, as is methodological approach; we welcome interpretive, qualitative, quantitative, and community-engaged research. Relevant fields might include medical sociology or anthropology; social, community, or health psychology; social epidemiology; demography; public health; science and technology studies; and bioethics. The successful candidate will have an outstanding research program with strong potential for NIH funding. A degree, graduate certificate, or formal specialization in women's, gender, or sexuality studies is preferred. In the absence of a formal credential, candidates must have a demonstrated record of sustained scholarship in this area.
Required Qualifications*

Education and Certification:- Master’s degree in social sciences, conflict studies, gender studies, international affairs, and/or another relevant field related to gender in governance, peace and security is required;
- A first-level university degree in combination withtwo additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Experience:- At least 5 years of progressively responsible work experience at the national or international level in the design, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes related to Governance, Peace and Security;
- Technical experience in programming, advisory and advocacy work with governments and civil society on gender and governance, peace and security is required; including on women’s leadership and decision-making, and emerging issues such as climate change and cybersecurity and new technology.
- Previous experience with UN Women and/or other UN agencies is an asset.
- Experience in the Asia Pacific region is preferred.
