Gender-based violence (GBV)Organizational Setting and Work Relationships
The Senior GBV Assistant supports the operations' efforts to fulfil UNHCR's mandate and associated obligations on GBV prevention, risk mitigation and response based on policy and guidance.
Duties
- Support activities in GBV prevention and response with implementing and operational partners
- Support the implementation of multi-sectorial response to GBV (including health, psychosocial support, case management, legal, and security).
- Contribute to measures to prevent and respond to GBV incidents.
- Contribute to safety audits and other relevant assessments.
- Support the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for GBV response as well as other protection/solutions activities.
- Support the provision of case management to GBV survivors (if relevant in operation) in line with GBV Guiding Principles;
- Liaise with other protection units for relevant referrals (including to the durable solutions unit).
- Assist in drafting reports, routine correspondence, updating relevant databases and compiling statistics for the protection unit / section.
- Ensure the wishes of survivors are prioritized as per the survivor-centred approach. Enforce compliance with, and integrity of, all protection standard operating procedures for GBV as well as the GBV minimum standards and Guiding Principles.- Support the identification and management of risks and seek to seize opportunities impacting objectives in the area of responsibility. Ensure decision making in risk based in the functional area of work. Raise risks, issues and concerns to a supervisor or to relevant functional colleague(s).- Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
For G5 - 2 years relevant experience with High School Diploma; or 1 year relevant work experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher
2 years of previous work experience relevant to the function of GBV in a local context and having experience in the field of GBV prevention, mitigation and response, broader protection or social work involving empowerment of women and girls, gender, child protection, mental health, counselling and working with survivors, humanitarian and development issues. Scope of Work:
Reporting to the Gender and Development Manager and working closely with the Senior Health Specialist/GPEI Outbreak Deputy Coordinator, the Gender Consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:- Technical and coordination support for the efficient functioning of the National EOC Gender Group and state-level EOC gender groups/task forces.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…- Minimum of eight years of experience in gender and development programming.
- A track record of achieving or contributing to tangible change in planning, designing, implementing, and delivering results-based programmes on gender and health programming, including behaviour change initiatives.
- Experience conducting or supporting gender analysis, including quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and applied gender measurement, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Exemplary written and verbal skills, with a solutions-oriented and proactive approach to assigned tasks.
- Experience working with UNICEF or other UN agencies is a strong asset.
- Experience in training and facilitation is an asset.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of local languages is considered an asset.

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a GEDSI Adviser with experience in private sector or market systems development, to ensure that MDF continues to adopt best practices in mainstreaming GEDSI across our portfolio of interventions with business and government partners.The GEDSI Adviser will provide technical advice to country office teams across our geographic locations, review the current portfolio of GEDSI related work, provide recommendations to current work plans and identify new opportunities to mainstream GEDSI across the Facility. This will include developing the business case to engage and work with the private sector, support data capture in monitoring and results measurement of market interventions, as well as contributing to management reporting and documenting GEDSI case studies.Key areas of focus will include:
× Develop and update MDF's GEDSI strategic framework to ensure consistency and effective implementation.× Provide technical advice and guidance to country office teams on integrating GEDSI into market interventions.× Lead capability strengthening initiatives to enhance knowledge and integration of GEDSI across MDF.× Support the development and execution of GEDSI training modules and identify opportunities for collaborative learning.× Contribute to GEDSI thought leadership by documenting and showcasing case studies demonstrating best practices.× Assist in stakeholder mapping, strategic research designs, and communication products targeted at DFAT and other stakeholders.× Monitor and report on GEDSI deliverables, ensuring inclusivity in RIMI data collection and monitoring activities.

DELIVERABLES
The service provider will propose and design a research plan in coordination with the EL*C, using a multi- methods approach. The service provider will collect the necessary data and conduct the analysis of the data collected based on the above objectives and produce a research report, a long-read investigation article and a fact sheet document. Sexual & reproductive rights (SRHR) HealthThe Generation G partnership strives towards the creation of gender-just and violence-free societies with and for young people in their full diversity. The partnership raises public support, advocates for improved policies and laws, and strengthens civil society to contribute to achieving gender justice. It thrives on the diversity, strength and collaboration of experts, evidence-based and evaluated approaches, cross-country learning, and global advocacy.
Programme background
The Generation G partnership raises public support, advocates for improved policies and laws, and strengthens civil society as a means to contribute to gender justice. More specifically, this partnership engages an innovative gender-transformative strategy that equips youth leaders and civil society organisations to address the root causes of gender inequality and power imbalances. Engaging (young) men in promoting gender justice is a key component of this strategy.
The key approach of the programme is a gender-transformative approach. A gender-transformative approach focuses on the following elements: a) investing in amplifying young feminist voices; b) strengthening the role of young men as allies in gender equality; c) promoting human rights and youth agency; d) analysing and addressing harmful norms and unequal power relations; e) embracing sexual and gender diversity.
Objectives
The end-term evaluation of the Generation G programme has two-fold objectives: programmatic focused and collaboration focused. Detailed objectives are:
- Evaluating the effectiveness of the programme
- Evaluating the partnership collaboration

Evaluating the relevance and validity of the theory of change
The partnership calls for an external, independent party to address these objectives clearly and comprehensively in all seven countries where Generation G has been implemented. Results from the end-term evaluation needs to provide insights for future programmes.
The succesful applicant
The successful application will identify key personnel within the evaluation team who meet desired criteria such as the following:- Master’s degree or higher in social sciences or related fields such as public health science, political science.
- Advanced skills in the realist evaluation approach, as well as quantitative and qualitative research methodologies;
- Proven track record in the evaluation of advocacy programmes, gender justice, meaningful and inclusive youth participation gender-transformative lobbying and advocacy, youth-inclusive policymaking and legislation, particularly in long-term assignments such as this one, that have been implemented in multiple countries;
- At least five years’ experience in the development sector;
- Knowledge of human rights, gender justice, gender-transformative lobbying and advocacy, intersectionality, youth agency, youth-inclusive policymaking and legislation and collaborative programming, including approaches to engage men and boys;
- Proven experience in working with the realist evaluation approach;
- Proven experience in working with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis for evaluations;
- Network with research institutions and/or independent consultants in the South;
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and respond appropriately to constructive feedback; and
- Experience in sharing and discussing review findings with clients, in-country partners and beneficiaries, and within an international research network.

For those who don't know, The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people. We are a non-profit that provides 24/7 life-saving support via phone, text, and chat. Our On Call Consults (OCCs) are available by phone for crisis services staff to consult on high and imminent risk situations and approve active interventions. OCCs are required to complete mandatory training and attend meetings once a quarter, as needed. OCCs are required to have an advanced degree in a mental health field and/or a valid medical/social work/psychology (or equivalent) license. Someone with an LLC or equivalent is preferred. Our current opening in the schedule is as follows:
- Sunday to Thursday: 6:30pm-11:00pm PT /9:30pm-2:00am ET

Working in partnership with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer (LGBTIQ+) youth networks in 4 Asian countries, UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok (UNESCO Bangkok) is supporting the design and implementation of innovative approaches to enhancing inclusion in education, while simultaneously advancing solutions to combating discrimination and violence in learning spaces based on sexual orientation and gender identity or expression (SOGIE).
WORK ASSIGNMENT:
Under the overall authority of the Regional Director, UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok (UNESCO Bangkok), the overall guidance of the Chief of the Section for Education, and the direct supervision of the Regional Advisor on Education for Health and Well-being, the consultant is expected to undertake a comprehensive mid-term evaluation of the project on enhancing LGBTIQ+ inclusive learning spaces in Asia.
Specifically, the consultant shall carry out the following tasks:
1. Draft, in close consultation with UNESCO and the Project Reference Group, an evaluation inception report, which contains updated methods for data collection and analysis and a timeline with deliverables for the evaluation.
2. Make any revisions, on the basis of feedback provided, to the overall methodology and data collection tools (eg as questionnaires, interview guides, and focus group discussion (FGD) guide, as appropriate)3. Plan and carry out data collection and analysis according to the agreed methodology of the mid-term project evaluation.
4. Develop and submit to UNESCO Bangkok a full, final mid-term evaluation report and summary presentation of the key findings from the report.
5. Deliver the summary presentation and co-facilitate with UNESCO, discussions at an in-person learning exchange meeting to react to, and validate the evaluation findings and recommendations. The learning exchange meeting will be organized by UNESCO in the first week of December 2024 (tentatively) in Bangkok, Thailand. The consultant will co-create with UNESCO the meeting’s discussion methodology and gather participants’ feedback to incorporate into the final mid-term evaluation narrative report.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation
• An advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in fields such as: monitoring and evaluation, educational assessment and evaluation, formal education, gender equality, inclusion in education, human rights advocacy, social justice, social science or other relevant fields.

• Assist in preparing reports for Fora: Network for Change’s Board of Directors, Directors & CEO, donors, and other stakeholders.
• Provide insights into the overall program strategy of the organization.
• Assist in writing grants for institutional donors.
• Accurately manage allocated program budgets and track expenditures.
• Provide support as part of the programs team in the planning, development, and organization of the policies and procedures of the department.
• Contribute to organizational strategic planning, annual planning, etc.
• Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge & Experience:
• Post Secondary degree or Certificate in Community Development, International Development, Nonprofit Management, Human Services, Gender Studies (or in a relevant field) is an asset, but not essential.
• A combination of lived experience and non-academic credentials is also valued.
• An understanding and passion for youth advocacy and/or gender equity fields is an asset.
• Sensitivity working with women and gender-marginalized youth (ages 18-29) from a diversity of communities.
• Demonstrated experience of 3+ years in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs is required.
• Demonstrated 3+ years in budget management.
